While the sneaker world may seem to be maturing in terms of what's hot, such as New Balance’s resurgence or the earth tone domination of colorways, footwear companies still offer playful kicks, however, these mostly come for the little ones. With plenty of kids' exclusive sneakers on the horizon, such as the retro-gaming-inspired AJ 1 Low or the AJ 4 that pays homage to messy rooms, another one has emerged that combines floral arrangements and basketballs, the Air Jordan 1 Mid SE “Basketball Blossom” (GS).
Coming in a dual mix of smooth and pebbled leather, the colorblocking utilized brings serious shattered backboard vibes. Around the mudguard and eyestays sits a black pebbled leather, contrasting the white leather found on the midfoot, collar, and perforated toebox, though the real contrast comes courtesy of the floral embroidery found towards the rear of the lateral side. The black Nike Swoosh runs through this floral pattern, passing between the orange pebbled leather on the collar and heel to the black leather found on the heel. Final hits of white come via the tongue and lace set as well as the AJ 1 midsole. Rounding out the look is the orange rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid SE Basketball Blossom GS is scheduled to release Holiday 2022 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming exclusively in grade school sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
