Often looked at as the “black sheep” of the Air Jordan 1 family, the Mid still holds a place in the sneaker world thanks to its cheaper cost and often unique looks. One of these unorthodox takes, the Wear Away iteration, has already been released in a “Chicago” colorway with a low-top model in “White Onyx” on the horizon. Now, another AJ 1 Mid Wear Away has been revealed, this time in a “Black Taxi” makeup.
Once out of the box, the pair may look like a “Panda” colorway with its black leather overlays and white leather underlays, though some good wear-and-tear will reveal the taxi layer underneath the overlays. Aside from this, everything else remains standard to the AJ 1 Mid with Jumpman branding atop the tongue in yellow and a Nike Swoosh in black along the quarter panel. Laces and tongue both opt for a black look while the sockliner gets a tie-dye makeover, featuring shades of red, purple, black, and yellow. Underfoot, the AJ 1 midsole gets a sail finish with a black rubber outsole completing the design.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid SE Wear Away Black Taxi is slated to release this Holiday 2022 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming in full-family sizing, pairs will retail for $135 (men), $120 (GS), $80 (PS), and $65 (TD).
