The Air Jordan 2 was a breakthrough in luxury basketball footwear, blending premium Italian craftsmanship with high-performance functionality when it debuted in 1986. The silhouette has largely been considered as the “black sheep” in the Jordan lineup, as MJ himself didn't even like wearing them on the court. This hasn't stopped Jordan Brand from bringing forth new renditions, as many new color schemes are on the horizon. For its latest AJ2, JB pays homage to the Jordan Wings Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing educational support for underserved youth.
Borrowing some elements from the “Lucky Green” Jordan 2 released earlier this year, we see a similar combo of green and white across the upper. The shoe's main body boasts a pure white leather construction complemented by green piping accents. One of the standout features is the overlay along the midfoot that carries a wing graphic, a symbol of the Jordan Wings Foundation. This overlay is further enhanced by a semi-translucent panel just below. We see more green hits along the heel, this time taking on a metallic-like finish. Other embellishments include "H" and Jumpman graphics on the insole. Rounding out the design is the black midsole and green and white outsole.
The Air Jordan 2 Retro WF "Wings" will release June 10 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $210.
