Flashy in a subtle way, Guo Ailun’s Air Jordan 36 Low is a simple yet head-turning colorway with material contrasts and bright hits of hyper jade. A star in the Chinese Basketball Association, Guo Ailun was also Jordan Brand’s first basketball signee born in China. His love for Jordan budded from the popular Japanese manga-turned-anime “Slam Dunk,” which features Jordan sneakers heavily throughout the series. Now the man has a special edition AJ 36 Low made in his name.
Guo’s penchant for flair has cost him a pretty penny, most notably being allowed to resume playing for the Flying Leopards of the CBA after paying fines for violating the league’s dress code. His Air Jordan 36 Low is equally as flashy. Starting with a white jacquard leno-weave for the upper, a metallic silver mudguard wraps itself around the entire shoe, with an additional metallic silver hit streaking through the midsole. The same metallic silver is used for Guo’s logo hit on the heel pull tab. Accenting the sneaker are branding hits in hyper jade throughout the upper, tied together by the marbled white and hyper jade outsole.
The Air Jordan 36 Low Guo Ailun is set to release in Fall 2022. It will drop on Nike, via the SNKRS app, and at select Jordan Brand retailers in-store and online. Men’s sizes will retail for $175, while gradeschool pairs will be $140. Check out our Jordan release calendar, and keep it locked to our Twitter andMobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
