The Japanese professional basketball player is the latest Jordan Brand athlete to get an exclusive sneaker. Following in the footsteps of former players like Ray Allen and Quentin Richardson, Rui has been given a "PE" edition of the Air Jordan 8 Retro. Like Allen and Richardson, Hachimura's pair will be released in the public in limited quantities. While not as exclusive as the "Sugar Ray" and "Q-Rich" Harlem House of Hoops drops, this Air Jordan 8 Retro will see a wider release.
It also marks the first Air Jordan retro release for Hachimura, whom only had the latest signature sneakers, the Air Jordan's 34, 35 and 36 made in his honor and released in the past. The Air Jordan 8 Retro SE Rui comes in a twine, gym red, black and sesame colorway. They feature a premium suede and synthetic leather upper with an aged wood print-like graphic on the overlays. Black accents the plastic strap tabs on the sides as well as the liner with hits of red adorning Hachimura’s “H” logo embroidered on the tongue as well as on the outsole.
The Air Jordan 8 Retro SE Rui Hachimura is set to release on March 23rd, 2022 alongside the Jordan 36 "Rui Hachimura" that sports a similar color scheme. It will be available at Nike as well as select Jordan Brand retailers both in-store and online. Retail is set at $225 and they will be available in men's sizing. Each pair comes with extra sets of laces and special packaging. Keep it locked to our Twitter andMobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
