The Air Jordan 9 is a model enveloped in nostalgia and reverence within the Air Jordan lineage, notable for its debut during Michael Jordan's first retirement from the NBA. As the Air Jordan 9 marked its 30th anniversary in 2023, Jordan Brand extended the celebrations into the new year. We are getting a retro of the classic Olive colorway, and new renditions of the Jordan 9 Golf silhouette, previously seen in colorways like Cool Grey and White Black. Now, the Jordan 9 Golf gets a Woodgrain makeover.
The Woodgrain iteration of the Air Jordan 9 Golf is a masterpiece of design, integrating the aesthetic of natural wood into the shoe's fabric. The upper flaunts a textured leather overlay that emulates the intricate patterns of wood grain, adorned in a rich chocolate brown that wraps from the mudguard to the heel. This design is complemented by the soft nubuck portions in a gentle tan, creating a harmonious blend of earth tones.
The shoe's detailing is further accentuated by thin, white rope laces threading through patinated metallic eyestays atop a base of premium leather and nubuck on the tongue. The metallic Air Jordan branding shines on the tongue, while the insole features a branded wood design, adding to the shoe's bespoke appeal. The ensemble is completed with a cream midsole and a grey outsole, equipped with removable spikes, ensuring both style and functionality on the golf course.
The Happy Life Wood x Air Jordan 9 Golf Woodgrain will release on April 10, 2024, through Nike and select Jordan Golf retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the sneaker retails for $230.
