Alexis Sablone, professional skateboarder and Olympic medalist, is teaming up with Converse to release her first signature skateboarding silhouette, the Converse CONS AS-1 Pro White Fir. Drawing inspiration from the brand's 80s basketball and court shoe designs, the AS-1 Pro blends retro aesthetics with modern performance features to create a unique and innovative skateboarding shoe.
The Converse CONS AS-1 Pro will first launch in the White Fir colorway and features a newly engineered coring system for increased impact cushioning and optimized board feel. Rubber pods are strategically placed throughout the upper for visible durability and enhanced performance. The shoe is also Converse's first performance skateboarding cupsole offering. Underfoot, the herringbone outsole pattern, refined to Alexis' specifications, provides maximum traction and grip straight out of the box.
The silhouette boasts a CX foam sockliner for cushioning, and the height of the rubber on the laterals was adjusted to cater to various riding styles. Meticulous attention to detail was paid throughout the design process, resulting in a shoe that meets the performance demands of professional skateboarders like Alexis Sablone and captures the spirit of Converse's iconic 80s designs.
The Converse CONS AS-1 Pro White Fir will release May 2 through Converse and select retailers online and in-store. Future colorways will follow beginning June 2. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $80.
