The ANTA Kai 1 Team is Available Now

Kyrie Irving’s venture with ANTA has proven quite successful as the Mavericks superstar expanded his lineup of sneakers from a single signature model to multiple performance basketball and lifestyle models. It turns out that outside of the Kai 1 Speed and the unnamed model recently worn by Kyrie, the duo has been hard at work developing another entry into Kyrie’s on-court sneaker roster as a budget-friendly Kai 1 Team model loaded up on Dick’s Sporting Goods on Christmas Day.

Akin to the Kai 1 and Kai 1 Speed, the silhouette comes with a low-top cut and Native American-influenced patterns and designs. An engineered mesh base comes with various patterns that evoke Kyrie’s tribal connection, with Irving’s custom font that takes inspiration from ancient and native languages found on select branding details. On the lateral side, ANTA’s logo helps reinforce the midfoot, while the medial side sees a perforated leather and fused TPU for most of its construction.

The tongue and forefoot align with the Kai 1 Speed, lacking the lockdown strap on the original Kai 1. However, the same Kyrie logo on the other two models is plastered on the plastic tongue tag. This logo also finds a home back on the heel, located near the aforementioned custom font attached to a tag on the lateral heel.

As for tech specs, Dick’s Sporting Goods’ website doesn’t provide the exact technology embedded within the sneaker but describes it as hosting “advanced cushioning technology” and a carbon plate. Finishing the design is the custom traction pattern on the rubber outsole.

The ANTA Kai 1 Team is available right now in three different colorways on Dick’s Sporting Goods’ website and is expected to launch in a handful of different iterations come 2025.
