A$AP Rocky's creative journey through the fashion and sneaker world continues to evolve as he steps into a new role with Puma, aligning himself alongside his partner, Rihanna, who has been a long-standing collaborator with the brand. This move was solidified when Rocky was appointed the Creative Director for Puma’s partnership with Formula One, marking a significant shift from his previous association with Under Armour. The collaboration is now ready to unveil its first major release, the revival of the Puma Inhale OG, a sneaker that first hit the market in 2000 as a performance runner.
The A$AP Rocky x Puma Inhale OG faithfully nods to its roots, maintaining the original design and aesthetic that made it a standout during its initial release. The sneaker features a lightweight mesh base complemented by plush suede overlays and exaggerated contours that emphasize its dynamic design. The colorway blends earthy tans offset by vibrant red accents on the iconic Puma Formstrip at the midfoot, the branding on the tongue, and a unique linear pattern on the lateral heel.
Additional accents in white and black traverse the shoe, adding depth and contrast to the overall design. Inside, the sneaker features a custom insole designed by A$AP Rocky, which includes retro Puma logos and symbols that celebrate the brand's sports heritage and Rocky's artistic influence. The shoe is finished with a CMEVA midsole for comfort, topped with a visually striking gradient rubber outsole that mixes red and light yellow with a practical black dimple traction pattern near the toe.
The A$AP Rocky x Puma Inhale OG will release on May 3, 2024, through Puma and select retailers both online and in-store for $120. Stay tuned to the Sole Retriever mobile app for more updates on this release and other exciting news in the sneaker and streetwear world.
