Over in Herzogenaurach, Germany, adidas has been struggling financially and culturally since the separation from Yeezy back in October of 2022. Their woes only continued as news came forth showcasing the struggles of Beyonce’s IVY PARK line while a key partnership that many were excited about with Balenciaga came to a sudden end. This was in part due to the scandal surrounding the French-based fashion house which caused adidas to “pause” product launches. While the public is still waiting to see if/when more products between the two labels hit shelves, we have first looks at a new footwear design from the duo - the Balenciaga x adidas Yrack.
Taking on the upper of the adidas Forum High, we see the humble retro basketball model take on high-quality tumbled leather throughout its design with shades of white on the majority of the sneaker. Accenting hits of red land on the Three Stripes logo, adidas Trefoil, and via the sockliner/collar portions. Down on the toe, we see a typical Balenciaga detail with the shoe size denoted in European sizing while added overlays near the midfoot and toe resemble the Balenciaga Track Runner. Rounding out the design is the chunky Balenciaga Track Runner midsole and outsole in shades of white.
The Balenciaga x adidas Yrack White Red is set to release in 2023 (once the partnership between Balenciaga and adidas resumes) through adidas Confirmed and Balenciaga online and in-store. As of now, sizing and pricing information is TBA.
