Back in 2017, Demna Gvasalia totally transformed the sneaker scene with his Triple S silhouette. Described by the Georgian fashion designer as a "visual composite," the shoe took moulds from three different sports, including running, basketball, and track & field, and stacked them all on top of one another to create one of the most controversial kicks of the past decade. As we head towards the model's sixth anniversary, it looks like the Parisian house is about to give it it's most vintage vibe yet with the Balenciaga Triple S "Worn Grey." Taking on one of the weirdest fashion fads right now, make sure you read on to find out everything that we know so far.
Painted in a "Worn Grey" hue, this Triple S boasts a premium leather, mesh, and suede construction that feels and looks luxurious. Pull tabs across the tongue and heel offer a rugged vibe, and underfoot, the extra chunky midsole stands proudly with a pre-worn finish that seems to be all the rage these days. From New Balance to Gucci, it seems like every major brand under the sun wants a piece of the pre-distressed pie, and Balenci is certainly no different. With oversized proportions and dramatic lines and curves throughout, there's nothing else quite like the Triple S's sole unit. To round off this colorway, the rope laces have been dipped in a light blue hue for a pop of contrast that's sure to turn heads wherever you go.
While the Balenciaga Triple S Worn Grey definitely wasn't made for everyone, if you're brave enough to add these to your collection they're set to release sometime in 2023. Dropping in men's sizes at Balenciaga and select online and in-store locations worldwide, a retail price has yet TBA.
