A Bathing Ape has remained a prominent figure in the streetwear scene, and despite facing legal challenges with Nike, the brand continues to innovate and expand its footwear offerings. The latest sneaker from the Japanese titan is the BAPE CROSS STA, described by the brand as a nod to "the brand’s rich history and elements of life.” The model will be offered in three colorways for its launch: Black, White Grey, and Sax Grey.
The BAPE CROSS STA is meticulously crafted, featuring a construction that balances performance with streetwear aesthetics. The sneaker boasts a mesh base for breathability, complemented by nubuck panels that add a touch of luxury and durability. These nubuck sections are detailed with 3M accents on the mudguard, midfoot, eyestays, and heel, enhancing visibility and adding a futuristic edge to the design. The iconic BAPE star logo adorns the midfoot, asserting the sneaker's identity, while A BATHING APE branding on the tongue solidifies its pedigree. The design is anchored by a chunky foam midsole, offering comfort and support, and is finished with a Vibram rubber outsole known for its exceptional traction and durability.
The BAPE CROSS STA will release on February 24, 2024, through BAPE online and in-store platforms. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $309. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app for the latest updates on this release and more in the sneaker and streetwear realm.
