The season may be over for Carmelo Anthony, but that doesn’t stop Jordan Brand from cooking up limited edition player exclusives for its most tenured athlete. While he got to lace up plenty of PE’s throughout the 2021-22 NBA season while playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, one pair that didn’t make it on his feet is this all-new “Air Bakin” inspired pair. Drawing inspiration from the classic late 90s basketball sneaker, this Air Jordan 36 is arguably the best one created.
Coming in a clean black, varsity red, and varsity maize colorway, the sneaker mimics the upper of the Nike Air Bakin, modified on the Leno-Weave upper. Anthony’s “Melo” logo is paired with a flame graphic on the tongue, furthering the Air Bakin’ theme. A black iridescent TPU ribbon on the midsole, is paired with a full-length Zoom Air cushioned sole for a smooth ride. Finishing this pair off are yellow laces and classic Nike branding on the collar and back heel.
As this is a player exclusive, the Carmelo Anthony x Air Jordan 36 Nike Air Bakin is not set to release at retail (unfortunately). It will more than likely remain an unreleased PE, made exclusively for Melo and his AAU-sponsored team. If that changes, we will let you know. Keep it locked to our Twitter andMobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
