Asics continues to dominate the footwear scene with its tech-inspired mesh runners, which have become highly sought after by sneakerheads and fashion-forward consumers. The GT-2160 stands out as a canvas for creative collaborations among these silhouettes. Bangkok-based retailer Carnival is now stepping into the spotlight with its take on the popular model.
Dubbed Concrete Bloom, Carnival’s Asics GT-2160 features a carefully curated mix of colors and materials inspired by urban life's challenges. The sneaker is built on an olive green mesh base, delivering breathability while maintaining a sleek profile. Silver leather overlays grace the mudguard, midfoot, and heel, adding a layer of durability and structure to the silhouette. The Asics tiger stripe on the midfoot comes in a dark green shade with brown accents, bringing depth and contrast to the design. The cream laces and matching tongue offer a soft, neutral touch that balances out the earthier tones, while a contrasting cream sockliner adds to the sophisticated aesthetic. Carnival branding replaces the traditional GT-2160 logo on the lateral side, emphasizing the exclusivity of this collaboration, while GEL branding appears on the heel. Rounding out the look is a cream foam midsole with GEL cushioning and a black rubber outsole for reliable traction.
The Carnival x Asics GT-2160 Concrete Bloom will release in September 2024, exclusively through a raffle on Carnival’s app, with the raffle opening on August 29, 2024. The retail price has yet to be announced. Keep it locked to the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
