The landscape of Asics collaborations has shifted in recent years, venturing beyond just retailer projects to high fashion link-ups seen on the runways of Paris. Beginning in 2022 with a collection of one-off upcycled Asics, the Japanese footwear brand’s relationship with Cecilie Bahnsen has flourished into multiple collaborative efforts. Following up on the duo’s work on the Gel-Terrain in three colorways in November 2024, the two are returning to bring more outdoor inspiration to the sneaker.
Although the Gel-Terrain itself borrows aesthetic features from outdoor footwear, this two-pack of Gel-Terrains from Bahnsen turns the outdoor vibes to 11. Both pairs, one in Navy and the other in Grey, come with no-sew construction for the base layer and feature floral patterns fused onto the upper and embroidered into the material. An internal bootie with floral-laden quick lace systems upgrades the sneaker's fit.
While both pairs are identical in their base, the Navy variant shrouds the upper in transparent PVC adorned with navy floral designs. The Asics Tiger Stripes shine through on this pair with their metallic silver finish. Below, both sneakers come with a FlyteFoam and Gel-cushioned foam midsole, matching the upper tones. Finishing the sneaker is a tonal rubber outsole.
The Cecilie Bahnsen x Asics Gel-Terrain MT Pack W has no exact release date, but the designer's website will open an EQL raffle on February 13, 2025. With this, expect a release in February through her site and possibly via Asics and select retailers. Available in women's sizing, the retail price is set at €250 (approx $255 USD).
