Converse and Comme des Garçons Play have remained steady partners for years as the heart-laden Converse releases continue to hit shelves. In a first for CDG, they’re tackling the skateboarding side of Converse, bringing forth two neutral colorways of the Converse One Star Academy Pro.
Both the Milk and Black colorways feature a premium canvas construction on the upper, with the titular shade on each being the primary color. Contrasting hits of inverted color, white on the Black colorway and black on the Milk pair, come along the midfoot’s star logo and canvas strips and the canvas on the spine of the heel. This design wouldn't be a CDG Play collab without the iconic heart design integrated somewhere, placed explicitly along the lateral midfoot.
Inside, the silhouette features a co-branded insole that rests above the CX foam cushioning setup encased with the vulcanized rubber midsole. Underneath this is a grippy dark gum rubber outsole with a CONS traction pattern.
The Comme des Garçons Play x Converse One Star Academy Pro Pack will release on December 6, 2024, through Dover Street Market and Converse online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
