CDG Play and Converse have had a long standing relationship, putting out multiple colorways of the beloved "Heart Shoe" Chuck 70. Recently revealed is a set of Comme Des Garçons Play x Converse Chuck 70 Hi’s and Lows featuring red midsoles.
Keeping the same construction as a standard pair of Chuck Taylors, the uppers on the black and white pairs stick to a canvas base. Chrome metal eyelets and rubber toecaps remain, alongside the usual CDG Play heart design in place of the Converse logo on the lateral side. Tonal stitching and an accenting heel strip help complete the uppers classic look. While everything looks to stay the same up top, the change in design comes in the form of the red midsole below. Rounding out the look is a gum rubber outsole.
The CDG Play x Converse Chuck 70 collection is set to release through Dover Street Market on March 24th. Coming in men's sizing, both high top and low top pairs will retail for $150.
