Converse may not be the first name you think of when it comes to skateboarding. Still, the brand’s CONS division hosts some of the sport's top talent. Louie Lopez, who signed with Converse CONS in 2017, debuted his first signature model with the label back in 2019, the Louie Lopez Pro, but a follow-up has been missing for nearly 6 years. However, that all changes with his second model, the Louie Lopez Pro 2, which debuted last week.
Lopez's second sneaker draws inspiration from Converse's archives and lesser-known sports heritage, representing his personal growth as a skateboarder and refined taste in individual style. More specifically, the silhouette takes design details from archival models like the Converse Kangaroo, a track shoe, the All-Star Pennant, a cleat, and the Check Point, a tennis shoe, all while making the silhouette perfect for skateboarding. The thin and sleek silhouette will draw comparisons to turf shoes from adidas and Nike, but it remains in its field through the archival design language directly pulled from the Converse archives.

Technical features, like the new cupsole construction, CX Foam insole, grippy traction on the outsole, and grasshopper coring in the tooling for impact protection, allow for a good board feel and solid cushioning for long sessions. Quilted stitching along the toe adds to the toebox's durability and gives it an archival indoor soccer-inspired appearance. Final details on the sneaker include Louie Lopez branding on the heel and Converse logos on the midfoot, tongue, and insole.
The Converse CONS Louie Lopez Pro 2 debuted in the Metallic Silver colorway on March 7, 2025, and will launch in new colorways throughout 2025. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $85. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
