In 2022, no one can escape the foam clog sneaker. It seems that we get first looks almost daily of another brand taking a crack at their version of this simply constructed model, such as the recently revealed NB Clog. Though its initial offering came with A-COLD-WALL collaboration, Converse is set to expand its Sponge Crater CX line with the latest colorway appearing in "Natural Ivory."
The silhouette gets a monochromatic "Natural Ivory" color across its foam exoskeleton and knit internal bootie, sans the green Converse branding present on the pull tabs. Keeping things eco-friendly, the breathable knit upper comes built with approximately 95% recycled material. For the polyester tongue and pull tabs, 100% of its materials is recycled, also utilizing a spandex collar construction for easy on and off wear. On the orange insole, more Converse branding is present in a treeline green shade. Surrounding the entire upper is a molded CX Foam exoskeleton, comprised of 11% recycled rubber scraps from the footwear manufacturing process. Acting as its cushioning system, the CX Foam wraps to the outsole and comes in an exaggerated eggcrate-style traction pattern.
The Converse Sponge CX Crater Natural Ivory is set to release on July 5th, 2022 through Converse Portugal with a wider release slated for later in 2022. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
