The 2023 MLB All-Star festivities are underway, which brings with it a few sneaker surprises. In a move few could have expected, Donovan Mitchell revealed his fifth signature sneaker from the adidas Don Issue series during the Celebrity Softball Game. Before we've even seen it on the hardwood, adidas transformed the D.O.N. Issue 5 into a cleat just for the occasion.
Mitchell showcased the sneaker through images taken by adidas before taking the field in the D.O.N. Issue 5. A radiant teal is splashed across the leather upper with perforations at the midfoot and toe for breathability. Tropical pink then appears on the upper most eyestays and midfoot shanks on both the medial and lateral sides. Cutting right through this shank are three black stripes that climb to the upper, ending on a breezy mesh oval on the medial. Pearlescent black makes an appearance on both a toe box oval shank and heel clip. Black textile appears on the heel and lateral toe, the latter of which bears pink stitching. Pink branding is present on the black sockliner, which tied together with matching black laces. Teal then takes over the midsole and outsole, with Mitchell's autograph inset below.
The adidas D.O.N. Issue 5 is expected to release this year via Nike and select retailers, online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price will likely be $120.
