We’re used to seeing DTLR team up with New Balance for exclusive colorways on the brand's models, however, the DMV-based retailer does find time to work with others in the footwear space. Teaming up with Puma in the past with a Cell Speed in an “Alert” colorway that was inspired by taking a bold stance, the two are back together for a racing-inspired “Turbo” colorway on the same mode.
Taking on a combination of mesh as its base layers and leather, suede, and synthetic materials for its overlays, the sneaker's busy upper features simple shades of white, grey, and black with multi-color accents throughout. Near the toe, we see white leather with grey suede running up the spine to help create the eyestays hosting a set of black laces. These laces run through red and blue nylon eyestays towards a yellow Puma-branded tongue tag featuring a red pull tab. Along the midfoot, we see a large Puma logo and Puma Formstrip that appear to be speeding by as portions of it come in a dashed font with this region also getting covered in a semi-translucent TPU overlay as well as black stitching details. Underfoot sits a multi-color 10CELL-cushioned midsole and multi-color rubber outsole.
The DTLR x Puma Cell Speed Turbo is set to release on March 10th, 2023 exclusively through DTLR online and in-store. Releasing in men’s and grade school sizing, the pair will retail for $90 and $75 respectively.
