END Clothing and Puma have a long history of crafting collaborations celebrating culture and creativity, but their latest partnership adds a flavorful twist. In celebration of Mangal II’s 30th Anniversary, the iconic Puma Suede silhouette gets reimagined to honor the legendary Turkish restaurant in East London. Founded in 1994 by Ali Dirik, Mangal II has become a staple of the city’s food scene, blending authentic Turkish cuisine with progressive techniques under the direction of Dirik’s sons, Ferhat and Sertaç, who took over the family business in 2020.
The END x Mangal II x Puma Suede features a rich Clyde royal blue suede upper inspired by the restaurant’s branding and gold foil accents that tell the story of its legacy. The number 94 is embossed on the right heel to mark the year Mangal II opened its doors, while additional co-branding can be found on the tongue and insole. A hallmark of timeless design, the sneaker bridges the gap between East London’s cultural influence and the Anatolian heritage of the Dirik family.
To celebrate the release, END and PUMA documented the Dirik brothers’ emotional return to Anatolia in Türkiye, where they explored their family’s roots and the culinary inspiration that shaped Mangal II’s identity. “Coming back to Anatolia for the first time in 19 years has reinforced, personally, my identity, my roots,” said Ferhat Dirik. “Experiencing the regional cooking and dishes we grew up with made me feel very complete.”
The END x Mangal II x Puma Suede will release December 6, 2024, through END Clothing online and in-store. Limited to just 300 pairs, the retail price is set at $150 in men's sizing.
