Even at 40, LeBron James still dominates guys who weren’t born when he entered the league. His dominance is also felt off the court with his signature sneaker line, which will live on past his NBA playing days, as he signed a lifetime deal with Nike in 2015. LeBron has even sponsored schools a la Michael Jordan, with one of the first being FAMU, which shared images of its latest round of Nike LeBron PEs.
Featuring James’ newest signature sneakers, the Nike LeBron 22 and NXXT Gen AMPD, these FAMU PEs take on the color scheme of the Rattlers. One pair of 22s opts for a white finish across its marbled leather upper, accented by green hits on the Swoosh cutout, tongue patch, and sockliner. Pops of orange find a home on the medial side’s mini Swoosh and the LeBron James crown logo embroidered onto the medial midsole.
Moving to the green-based pair of LeBron 22s, we see an inverted color palette applied here that still features the same materials. Like the white pair, this pair adds FAMU’s rattlesnake logo to the tongue and retains the LeBron James signature on the heel tab. Underfoot, both pairs come in tonal white and green finishes.
The NXXT Gen AMPD pairs also come in identical color schemes, one based in white and the other in green, with details nodding to the Rattlers found on various portions of the design. Like the 22, the tongue tag on this sneaker also plays host to the rattlesnake logo of the HBCU. Both pairs come with contrasting Swoosh logos, eyestays, and sockliner. Finishing the design are tonal midsole and outsole.
Unfortunately for non-FAMU athletes, these Nike LeBron 22 and Nike LeBron NXXT Gen PEs will remain exclusive to those who play basketball for the Rattlers.
