The next Fear Of God Athletics x adidas installment is an all-new colorway of the Los Angeles Runner. With the original LA Runner being the inspiration, the old meets the new in this ensemble of premium materials and a neutral palette.
The FOGA and adidas partnership has not panned out as expected by either brand. With a three-year gap between the announcement that Jerry Lorenzo was linking up with The Brand With The Three Stripes (2020) and the actual launching of the products (2023), it was always going to be a tall order for the brands to meet expectations. The anticipation was off-the-scale; the build-up hyped itself in all essence. Chatter on social media platforms was at an all-time high, but for whatever reason, the reception hasn't met the expectation, and now the two brands are at a crossroads. Rumors have circulated about the partnership dissolving, with adidas reportedly close to a deal with James Whitner, founder of The Whitaker Group, a like-for-like replacement, maybe?
That is yet to be seen, but there is hope the latest Fear Of God Athletics x adidas Collection for October, featuring the Los Angeles Hiker in Sesame and Carbon, can still capture the attention of the masses. Alongside the Hikers, the Fear of God Athletics x adidas Los Angeles Runner is back in a Cream White theme. As seen in previous projects, the minimalist look comes before all else, so it's no surprise to see an uncluttered appearance. This pair arrives with a tonal cream upper contrasted by black Three Stripes branding on the sides. At the rear is Fear Of God branding on the midsole, which is also black. The upper sits atop an EVA foam midsole that is finished with a rubber outdoor-inspired outsole for extra grip and traction.
The Fear Of God Athletics x adidas Los Angeles Runner Cream White is set to release on October 3, 2024, through Fear Of God, adidas, and select retailers online and in-store.
