A playful take on his latest signature model, NBA superstar Donovan Mitchell and adidas Basketball team up with Haribo to present a two-shoe collection of the DON Issue 6. The Cleveland Cavaliers guard is known for his love of gummy bear candies. In interviews, he stated that the Haribo Goldbears variety is one of the ten things he could not live without.
The sweetly curious crossover had occurred before, with the Haribo x adidas DON Issue 2, in which the shoe was designed and presented to represent the iconic Haribo golden packaging. This time, the Haribo packaging plays a part again, as the actual packaging for both pairs arrive in a wrapped shoebox that resembles the candies packet.
Coming in Cloud White and Lucid Red, the Haribo Goldbears x adidas DON Issue 6 Pack consists of knitted fabric uppers for maximum breathability and flexibility. TPU hits are found along the lateral and toe, with reflective 3M detailing. The Cloud White pair features a white-based aesthetic broken up by muted solar green and pink hues accenting throughout. The Lucid Red pair is adorned in a much more vibrant palette, with red enveloping most of the design and vivid green and solar green utilized for accenting. Both pairs feature the signature Spida motif on the tongue and bare custom graphics of the Haribo Goldenbear on the insoles. Underfoot, a propulsion plate for superior comfort and wearability, with translucent rubber outsoles showcasing Haribo branding underneath.
A third GS-exclusive colorway has been added to this collection. This pair comes in all green, with the same special branding throughout. 3M reflective details and a translucent outsole complete the look.
The Haribo Goldbears x adidas DON Issue 6 Pack is set to release on Halloween, October 31, 2024, through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's and gradeschool sizing, retail is set at $130 and $90, respectively.
