NYC-based graffiti collective and streetwear label IRAK is no stranger to footwear collaborations. The label previously worked with adidas on the Supernova Cushion 7, and before this, they crafted multiple adidas Samba colorways. Now, the collective is working on a two-pack of Gore-Tex-laden Converse One Star Ox colorways.
Seen here in a Navy and Wheat color scheme, both pairs feature the same construction and added branding details. IRAK applies a hairy suede finish to the upper, taking on the titular hue across all the paneling, while Gore-Tex coating helps protect against the elements. Branding for IRAK and Gore-Tex is on the lower lateral eyestay, right next to the cutout star logo on the midfoot. More Converse and IRAK logos land on the tongue tag in a bright yellow shade, contrasted by the lace set in black on the Navy pair and tonal wheat on the Wheat colorway. Inside, IRAK creates a custom graphic for the insole, creating a collage with its logo and splitting branding for IRAK and Cons (Converse’s skateboarding division) on the left and right insole, respectively. Rounding out the look is the black rubber midsole and outsole.
The IRAK x Converse One Star Ox GTX Pack will release on October 22, 2024, through Nike SNKRS and Converse online. A release via IRAK should occur earlier, though we have yet to hear from the branding regarding this upcoming collab. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
