Ja Morant Shares Matching Let Me Be Ja Nike Ja 2 and Air Force 1 PE's
PublishedLast week, images of a new collaboration with Kool-Aid on Ja Morant’s Nike Ja 2 hit the internet thanks to a sneaker-leaking Instagram account. While most designers, athletes, and others at the brand responsible for the creation of these sneakers let these leaks fly by without comment, Morant decided to take matters into his own hands, stating on his Instagram story: “gon start leaking my own shoes” alongside a picture of the Kool-Aid x Nike Ja 2. A week later, Morant has taken to Instagram to share images of two PE sneakers that come in matching color schemes.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low and Morant’s Nike Ja 2 come in a matching yellow and black color scheme; the AF1 differs from your regular release with Ja Morant’s Nike logo debossed into the lateral heel. Aside from this, both pairs share the same yellow base layer with black laces, a black tongue, a sockliner, a heel, and a sole unit. We see the same patent leather finish applied to the midfoot Swoosh, but the construction of the other uppers sticks to each sneaker’s typical material makeup. Both pairs display the same message, “Let me be Ja,” written in Ja Morant’s handwriting when viewed from the medial side.
Unfortunately, the Nike Ja 2 and Nike Air Force 1 Let Me Be Ja will remain player exclusives for Ja Morant. We can look forward to a handful of different Nike Ja 2 releases in the coming months, including the aforementioned Kool-Aid collab and the Swarovski partnership.
