Following the success of their first partnership in 2023, which introduced the Moab 3 hiking boot, Merrell and Jeep are back with a fresh take on the Moab Speed 2. This time, the duo is taking inspiration from new technologies that embody the future of hiking and off-road exploration, specifically Jeep’s new electric vehicles, for a four-pack of sneakers.
The four colorways offered are inspired by four popular Jeep paint colors: High Velocity, Tuscadero Pink, Bright White, and Black. Designed with adventure enthusiasts in mind, the shoe’s upper features automotive-inspired metallic accents and a mesh underlay resembling Jeep’s radiator grille. The collaboration also incorporates seatbelt-inspired webbing and durable hardware, while electric blue trim—a nod to Jeep's 4xe sustainable vehicle line—adds a striking touch of color. Beyond aesthetics, the Moab Speed 2 is packed with performance-driven features. A FloatPro Foam midsole ensures lightweight comfort for long hikes, while Vibram lugs increase traction on varied terrains. The shoe includes recyclable mesh lining, laces, and webbing for eco-conscious consumers, ensuring breathability and sustainability on every adventure.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with the Jeep brand again, whose sense of adventure is as daring as our own,” said Merrell Chief Marketing Officer Pallav Tamaskar. “Our design team has incorporated thoughtful, intentional features into our modern, lightweight Moab Speed 2 hiking boot.”
The Jeep x Merrell Moab Speed 2 Collection will release on November 12, 2024, through Merrell and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $180.
