We can confirm that the special edition sneaker, which pays homage to Jones' Bahamian heritage, is set to hit the shelves in late August.
Jonquel Jones’ Nike KD 17 Bahamas features a striking color palette inspired by the serene waters and natural beauty of the Bahamas. The upper is crafted from engineered mesh in cool blue tones, creating a fluid pattern reminiscent of the island nation's pristine waters. Clear dark grey TPU overlays, inspired by the Air Max Plus, add structural support to the midfoot, while green accents on the Swoosh and top eyelets bring a touch of tropical foliage. Coral-shaded laces provide a vibrant contrast, adding to the sneaker's island-inspired aesthetic.
On the heel, a detailed debossed map of the Bahamas showcases the country's many islands, adding a personal touch that celebrates Jones' roots. The sneaker is completed with a green foam midsole featuring Air Zoom cushioning for optimal performance and comfort, and a tonal blue rubber outsole ensures traction and durability on the court.
