The roster of talent in the NBA that has received a signature silhouette is slim with under 30 individuals spanning the entire 450-plus-player league, reserving this highlight moment for only the most elite ball players. As we reported in 2022, the king of Jordan PEs, Jayson Tatum, is set to receive his first signature silhouette with Jordan Brand in 2023, though we have not had any images of the model… until now. Presenting the Jordan Tatum 1 "Zoo."
Coming in a “Black/Metallic Gold-University Red-Beach” color scheme, the sneaker appears to take some DNA from CP3s signature line with JB and utilizes an engineered mesh upper in all-black that contains intricate graphics similar to that of “Laser” Jordan releases. Back on the heel, an acid-wash red look takes over with a Jumpman logo in gold breaking up the black/red combo. Jayson Tatum’s logo is barely visible, though we do see that “T” gets embroidered in a light tan shade atop the black tongue. As for tech within the sneaker, an uncaged Zoom Air unit is present in the forefoot.
In a post-game interview hours after the alleged Jordan Tatum 1 leaked, Jayson Tatum himself stated that the early photo is "not the real picture" and "not necessarily exactly how they look." While this might have been a play to keep things under wraps a little longer, we can confirm that the pair is indeed the Jordan Tatum 1. Release info for the "Zoo" colorway is spelled out down below.
The Jordan Tatum 1 Zoo is set to release on April 7th, 2023 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming in full family sizing, the retail prices are as follows: $120 (men), $90 (GS), $75 (PS), and $55 (TD). An early release will take place exclusively at Concepts Boston between April 5th and April 6th. Details for this event can be seen below.
