Asics continues to cement its place in sneaker culture with the timeless Gel-Lyte III, a model that has seen numerous collaborations and fresh colorways in recent years. Following the release celebrating Kith's new Seoul location, Asics is partnering with baseball-influenced streetwear brand KEBOZ and renowned sneaker retailer mita sneakers. This exciting collaboration brings the Taito colorway to life, drawing inspiration from Tokyo's historic Taito ward, home to both KEBOZ and mita sneakers.
The KEBOZ x mita sneakers x Asics Gel-Lyte III OG Taito pays homage to the vibrant and culturally rich Taito ward, incorporating colors reminiscent of its famous landmarks such as the cherry blossoms at Ueno Onshi Park, the Sumida River, and the iconic Sensoji Temple. The sneaker features a tan mesh base complemented by tan suede overlays on the mudguard, midfoot, eyestays, and heel, offering a harmonious blend of texture and tone. The signature split tongue design of the Gel-Lyte III is enhanced with a zipper, showcasing branding for mita sneakers. KEBOZ branding is prominently displayed on the lateral heel, while additional mita sneakers logos adorn the insole. The design is completed with a white and blue gel-cushioned midsole, providing comfort and style, and a tonal rubber outsole for durability.
The KEBOZ x mita sneakers x Asics Gel-Lyte III OG Taito will release on June 8, 2024, through mita sneakers, KEBOZ, and select Asics retailers online and in-store in Japan.
