Kevin Durant Debuts the Nike KD 18 El Valle PE
Published
Since finding a new home with the Phoenix Suns near the end of the 2022-2023 NBA season, Kevin Durant has settled in with the franchise, although his contract (initially signed with the Nets for four years) is up at the end of the 2025-2026 season. Still, the Slim Reaper has enjoyed his stay in Arizona, often using his signature sneakers to pay homage to the Suns. The latest homage to the franchise and The Valley of the Sun comes from the Nike KD 18 El Valle.
The city of Phoenix and the entire metro area earned the nickname “The Valley of the Sun” as it is located within the Salt River Valley and receives nearly year-round sunshine due to its desert environment. Playing off of this, the El Valle KD 18 incorporates a gradient sunset color palette on its base layer, starting with a bright yellow hue that transitions into oranges, pinks, and purples as you move back. Contrasting this are solid hits of navy on the toebox overlays, black on the collar, and blue piping on the ACG Terra Humara midfoot panel.

Durant’s branding details change, as seen on the right sneaker’s tongue with the “El Durant” logo. Finishing the upper is the gradient Swoosh on the collar, a set of blue laces, and a purple sockliner. Below, the Air Zoom-laden foam midsole has a purple finish paired with a black rubber outsole.
The Nike KD 18 El Valle PE will remain an exclusive sneaker for Kevin Durant and not see a public release. Check below for detailed colorway images, and download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
