Kevin Durant’s legendary 2012 run of releases with his Nike signature sneaker at the time, the Nike KD 4, is still being appreciated over a decade later. Fans of Durant’s fourth model have enjoyed many retro releases since the start of 2024, including pairs like the Nerf, Galaxy, Scoring Title, and Weatherman. They will soon see a retro of the Easter and Texas Longhorns colorways. Now, adding to the retro releases, Nike is dropping the Gold Medal colorway in Fall 2025.
Crafted to celebrate Durant and Team USA’s gold medal they earned in the 2012 Summer Olympics, the colorway launched in September of that year, featuring a gold, red, and navy color palette. The silhouette is expected to return in OG fashion, keeping the primarily gold finish on the toebox, midfoot, heel, lockdown strap, and the tongue's top. Navy finds a home on the mesh tongue, lace set, sockliner, and the 3 that come as part of the “35” branding atop the tongue.

Contrasting this two-tone look are hits of red, located on the Swoosh on the lockdown strap, the medial side, and the 5 as part of the “35” logo. Final details include a navy KD logo on the heel, a navy mini Swoosh on the vamp, a navy foam midsole with gold speckles, and a semi-translucent clear outsole.
The Nike KD 4 Gold Medal will return in Fall 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $130. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
