Kiko Kostadinov and Asics continue to push the boundaries of footwear design, blending high fashion with cutting-edge sportswear innovation. The duo's ongoing collaboration under the Asics Novalis line has been a standout recently, offering fresh takes on classic silhouettes and introducing new concepts to the sneaker world. Following a string of successful releases, including an upcoming launch of the UB7-S GT-2160, Kiko Kostadinov and Asics are set to introduce their latest creation—the Gel-Styrax Mule. This new silhouette represents a bold step for both brands, merging the functionality of a mule with the performance technology that Asics is known for. After an exclusive release at Notre earlier this year, the Gel-Styrax Mule is ready for a broader launch in August 2024.
The Kiko Kostadinov x Asics Novalis Gel-Styrax Mule features a unique design that blends fashion-forward aesthetics with practical functionality. The upper is crafted from a woven mesh material that offers breathability and a modern look. At the same time, a haptic secondary layer made of TPU adds texture and structure to the silhouette. The Asics tiger stripes, the brand's signature element, run across the profile and extend over portions of the toe, further emphasizing the collaboration's focus on form and function.
The mules come in two striking colorways: a royal blue and white combination with grey detailing and a rich burgundy version accented by green and bordeaux hues. Alongside these two, a Black Silver iteration will come later. Asics Novalis branding is tastefully placed on the lateral side, tongue tag, and heel, ensuring the collaboration's identity is front and center. Beneath the stylish upper, the Gel-Styrax Mule utilizes tooling borrowed from Kiko’s Asics Gel-Teremoa model, featuring Gel and FF Blast Plus cushioning. This setup provides the comfort and support that Asics is renowned for, making the mules a fashion statement and a practical choice for everyday wear.
The Kiko Kostadinov x Asics Novalis Gel-Styrax Mule Collection will release on August 8, 2024, through Notre. A second drop will follow on September 7, 2024, through Kiko Kostadinov. The Black Silver pair will release via Asics on October 26, 2024. The retail price is set at $250 in men's sizing.
