Ewing Athletics has always paid tribute to rap, hip-hop, and R&B pioneers. Numerous collaborations have been released in partnership with Sugar Hill Records, Rakim, Salt N Pepa, and Big L, to name a few. Now, Ewing Athletics has teamed up with your favorite rapper's rapper, Kool G Rap, to bring forth a unique edition of the Ewing 33 Hi.
Known as the Road to the Riches edition, G Rap's Ewing 33 Hi comes in an olive, red, and yellow colorway. The pair draws inspiration from a U.S. Armed Forces popular cartoon and toy franchise from the 1960s. The Curtis P-40E Warhawk fighter jet takes control of the main design throughout the upper. Olive leather covers the base, with Patrick Ewing's signature in its usual place, alongside custom warhawk graphics on the lateral sides. A military stencil graphic on the medial reads: Kool G Rap, Queens, 3141989, Road to the Riches, Ewing Athletics. This design honors G Rap, his birthday, the release date of his album, and the brand he partnered with. Other details include Kool G Rap's logo on the tongue, yellow hits via the laces and branding on the back straps and heel, and custom packaging. The custom packaging nods back to classic comic book covers.
The Kool G Rap x Ewing Athletics Ewing 33 Hi Road to the Riches was released today, October 18, 2024, and is available exclusively online via Ewing Athletics.
