LeBron James and Team USA are gearing up for what they hope will be another gold medal performance at the Summer Olympics in Paris, France. As the team prepares for the global stage, they have been practicing in Las Vegas, with today's showcase game marking their first competitive outing before heading overseas. During the warm-ups for tonight's game against Canada, LeBron took to the court wearing his latest Nike model. No, not the already-teased LeBron 22, but a brand-new training sneaker called the Nike LeBron TR 1.
Initially reported under the internal name Nike Royalty TR, the sneaker has officially been renamed the Nike LeBron TR 1. This training sneaker features a straightforward yet functional design, ideal for high-intensity workouts and on-court drills. The foam from the midsole extends up the side of the shoe towards the midfoot, providing added stability and support.
A prominent Swoosh logo cuts across the midsole and extends onto parts of the upper, adding a dynamic visual element to the sneaker. LeBron's signature crown logo adorns the top of the tongue tag, while a mini Swoosh logo is subtly placed on the toe. The outsole is designed for optimal grip, with small cutouts near the toe, reminiscent of Nike's Metcon training shoes, enhancing flexibility and traction. As for specific tech specs, Nike has kept this under wraps, but more info should be emerging in the coming weeks.
The Nike LeBron TR 1 will debut in August 2024 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store, though not in this USA colorway. The pair worn by LeBron tonight will likely remain a player exclusive for The King. Available in men’s sizing, the model's retail price is $130.
