Marvel has long held a deal with adidas to produce its footwear design. However, Puma has now secured the rights to create superhero-themed footwear with a Puma Suede based on Mile Morales and a Puma RS-X based on Black Panther, which has already been revealed. Another superhero gets their Puma sneaker, with vampire hunter Blade getting an RS-X collab.
The Marvel x Puma RS-X Blade showcases a striking design that pays homage to the legendary vampire hunter. The sneaker features a black ripstop base, giving it a rugged and durable look. Red accents highlight the Formstripe and the paneling around the collar, adding a vibrant contrast to the dark tones. Dark grey hues adorn the mudguard, eyestays, and heel portions, creating a cohesive and stylish aesthetic. Inside, the insole boasts a cartoon depiction of Blade, reminiscent of the art style from the Adult Swim cartoon, The Boondocks. While there isn't branding for The Boondocks, a Marvel logo prominently sits atop the tongue. The sneaker is completed with a grey and silver midsole featuring red splatter details near the heel and a black, red, and grey outsole, making it a perfect blend of style and functionality.
The Boondocks x Marvel x Puma RS-X Blade will release in 2024 through Puma and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
