Puma's recent collaborations have created a buzz in the sneaker community, partnering with cultural icons and franchises to bring fresh and exciting designs to the market. Continuing this trend, Puma is set to launch an innovative collection in partnership with the popular video game Rocket League. Known for its dynamic gameplay and vibrant visuals, Rocket League is a fitting inspiration for Puma, which has a history of blending sports performance with lifestyle aesthetics. The collaboration spans iconic Puma models, including the Puma Suede and Puma RS-X, each infused with distinctive elements from the game.
The Rocket League x Puma Suede showcases a bold blue suede upper, complemented by vibrant orange accents—a nod to Rocket League's energetic palette. Orange contrast stitching and laces add a pop of color, while a special co-branded logo on the tongue and a Rocket League car debossed on the lateral heel enhance its thematic appeal. The design is rounded off with a blue rubber midsole and a clear outsole that reveals an orange underlay, mirroring the game's dynamic interface.
Switching gears, the Rocket League x Puma RS-X takes a more subdued approach while maintaining the collection's spirited essence. This model features a blend of canvas, leather, and suede in grey and white tones, providing a neutral base that makes the blue and orange accents stand out. The stitching on the midfoot, the colorful lace set, and the creatively designed heel tab all echo the game's aesthetic. Branding elements are tastefully placed on the tongue, and the sneaker is finished with a white and blue foam midsole coupled with a clear outsole showcasing a gradient orange finish.
Finally, the Puma Palermo gets a Rocket League makeover. The pair is primarily dressed in white leather with suede details on the Puma Formstrip. A split color scheme is applied to the logo with the lateral side coming in blue suede with orange stitching and the medial flipping the combo. Like the other pairs, a debossed Rocket League vehicle is found on the lateral heel, and a hangtag representing the ball used in-game is attached to the lacing setup.
The Rocket League x Puma Collection will release September 13, 2024, through Puma and select retailers online and in-store. Available in adult and GS sizing, the retail prices vary between the pairs.
