Entering his 22nd NBA season, and his first with his son Bronny alongside him on the Lakers, LeBron James is also debuting his newest Nike sneaker, the LeBron 22, in the coming weeks. We’ve already seen PE renditions made for the Olympics, upcoming iterations like the Blacklight and Moonlight, and confirmation that the model will come in a collaborative colorway with the iconic board game Monopoly. Alongside the pair already known, another Monopoly x LeBron 22 has been revealed in a Deep Royal Blue hue.
While the other Monopoly x Nike LeBron 22 features direct homages to the money used in the board game, this version features just two tones, gold and blue, throughout the design. Lasered onto the panels all over the upper is a baroque-inspired graphic, possibly inspired by the high-end dark blue properties (Boardwalk and Park Place), the most expensive properties on the board. Obviously, with the game about amassing wealth, hits of gold are expected, with this shade outlining the Swoosh cut-out, the Monopoly-branded tag, and the metallic gold 3D Swoosh on the sole unit. Underfoot sits a tonal blue midsole and outsole featuring Cushlon 2.0 foam, a top-loaded forefoot Zoom Turbo unit, and a bottom-loaded Zoom Air unit in the heel.
The Monopoly x Nike LeBron 22 Deep Royal Blue will release on November 19, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $200.
