For The Three Stripes, cutting ties with Yeezy may have been a big hit both financially and culturally in the short term, however, the brand still has a slew of collaborators on its roster to work with in the long term. One fashion brand, the Japanese-based Neighborhood, recently was spotted working on the recently-revived adidas Adimatic in the label's usual black/grey color palette, though it appears their work together isn’t stopping anytime soon. Now the duo is coming together for a two-pack of adidas NMD_R1 colorways that feature paisley print details.
As is usual with a Neighborhood design, the two colorways feature darker shades with one coming in “Night Navy” while the other comes in “Core Black.” To achieve the paisley print pattern in white atop the sneaker's upper the usual Primeknit is swapped out in favor of canvas while overlays around the toe, midfoot, eyestays, and heel come in tonal-shaded suede that almost blends in with the upper. Branding details throughout remain standard to the NMD with a Trefoil logo featured on the heel and Three Stripes taking over the midfoot, though the insole does feature a co-branded Neighborhood x adidas logo. Underfoot you’ll find a split-colored Boost midsole with the rear coming in the same color as the upper while the front half gets a vintage, worn-in white look. Adding an extra touch, “Neighborhood” text takes over the front TPU plug that is famous to the NMD while the entire design is rounded out by a black rubber outsole.
The Neighborhood x adidas NMD_R1 Paisley Pack is set to release on November 28th, 2022 through adidas Confirmed and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
