New Images of Anthony Edwards' adidas AE 2 Appear Online

The sophomore slump doesn’t just haunt artists, filmmakers, and designers — it comes for signature sneakers, too. The jury’s still out on Anthony Edward’s second model, the adidas AE 2, which is following up on the white-hot popularity of the original AE 1 that ended up on top of an array of sneaker of the year lists. So far, teasers from adidas have given us a small preview, but a new in-hand video reveals more of the silhouette.
Once again, this new look at the adidas AE 2 doesn’t give us a clear and full picture of the sneaker, but we can virtually make out the whole model based on the different angles in the video. As expected, based on the tech specs that Sole Retriever revealed earlier in the year, the lateral profile comes with TPU louvers, which help reinforce the upper. This comes in a vibrant royal blue hue. Contrasting this are pops of red on the toebox, which borrows its design from the AE 1, the Three Stripes on the heel tab, and the Anthony Edwards logo on the tongue.
For its base, adidas applies a deep navy blue hue and utilizes a puffy canvas-like material reinforced by the aforementioned louvers and TPU overlays that wrap around the heel. Finishing the design are the black hits around the lace set, collar, and tongue, and the tonal rubber outsole that contains the Lightstrike and Lightboost cushioning setup.
This new colorway of the adidas AE 2 has no confirmed release information. The pair could be a sample, or a PE that Edwards will take the court in. Expect to see the first colorway of the adidas AE 2 to launch October 4, 2025, in the With Love colorway for $130.
