Originally launching in a collaborative fashion with Joe Freshgoods, the New Balance 9060 is the Boston-based footwear brand's latest silhouette. So far launching in a handful of inline colorways, the line is continuing to expand as a stealthy black and castlerock colorway has emerged.
Fusing 99X DNA with design details inspired by Y2K era runners, the sneaker is covered in a variety of panels in multiple shades of black and grey. On the front half, a deep black suede is laid atop the mesh underlay that comes in split form, black on the lateral side and white on the medial. As you work towards the enlarged “N” logo, the color palette shifts to a lighter black, or dark grey suede while continuing the split design between the two sides of the sneaker. Small hits of a purplish-black suede make their mark on the heel tab, collar, and toebox while the only hit of true color comes via the tongue tag's red “9060” text. Underfoot, the chunky Abzorb cushioned midsole comes in a two-tone grey and white while the rubber outsole below is home to a diamond-shaped pattern that comes in red.
The New Balance 9060 Black Castlerock is set to release on September 2nd, 2022 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
