2022 has proven to be a successful year for New Balance in terms of hype as their timely link-ups with Teddy Santis (his ALD label included), Joe Freshgoods, and even an upcoming collab with Bodega have helped raise the profile of the brand. Outside of collaborations, ambassadors like Jack Harlow help promote some of their upcoming releases, like the recently revealed New Balance 9060 “Burgundy,” featuring the Kentucky-born rapper in its campaign.
The same Y2K-inspired running design is present on the model with a combination of hairy suede, short-haired suede, leather, and mesh in earthy tones mixed with vibrant hues. Running from the toecap all the way back to the heel is a hairy suede panel, seen in a brown hue, while shorter suede in this exact shade gets placed along the midfoot and mudguard. Sage Green hits accent the light pink, almost burgundy mesh along the toebox, laces, and heel while vibrant pinks can be found on the “N” logo and branding details on the tongue, heel, and insole. Back on the heel, additional New Balance branding gets embroidered in a neon green shade, popping off the brown suede it sits atop. Underfoot, the chunky sole unit is seen in a two-tone green on its top half while the bottom gets a grey makeover. Rounding out the design is the black rubber outsole featuring diamond-shaped traction pods in brown and pink.
The New Balance 9060 Burgundy is set to release on November 5th, 2022 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
