Most new silhouettes don’t begin with a collaboration, though the New Balance 9060 broke that trend thanks to Joe Freshgoods. Since then, we have seen multiple inline releases and a two-pack with Nigerian-born designer Mowalola Ogunlesi. Looking to break the mold in terms of New Balance's color palette, the New Balance 9060 "Multi-Color" has appeared.
Unlike many of the previously released 9060 colorways, the silhouette utilizes a mixture of leather and sandwich-style mesh across the overlays and underlays respectively. Down on the toe, a blue-tinted mesh is surrounded by dark navy overlays as well as a two-tone red and green panel that runs from the toe all the way around to the heel, meeting in the middle by the pink N logo. Once you reach that halfway point, the underlay comes in a more true white to match the lace set and bottom half of the tongue, though the tongue tag features pink and navy details. This same color combo lands on the insole’s New Balance Running branding while the sockliner partakes in a more neutral greyscale look. Underfoot the multi-color look is complete thanks to the yellow and blue design between the stacked sole units while the rubber outsole below is finished in all black.
The New Balance 9060 Multi-Color will release this July through New Balance and select NB retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
