The brand, which has begun establishing a presence in the basketball footwear market, is set to release a new rendition of Kawhi Leonard's signature model, the New Balance Kawhi 3, in a Marine Blue colorway. This follows up on the release of the Sacred Geometry rendition.
The Kawhi 3 has had an intriguing journey since its debut. Originally introduced at the onset of 2023, it faced a recall due to quality control issues but has since made a strong comeback to coincide with the start of the 2023-2024 NBA season. For the Marine Blue, New Balance presents a harmonious blend of blue and black shades, creating a visually appealing and dynamic look. The overlays are adorned in a vibrant marine blue, while the base layer contrasts in a deep black.
The white New Balance branding on the tongue adds a striking element, and the design is further accented with a pink tag featuring Kawhi's branding on the heel. This pink hue continues onto the sockliner and is also in Kawhi’s signature on the insole, offering a subtle yet impactful pop of color. Underfoot sits a FuelCell cushioned midsole, presented in a mix of blue, black, and green, and a striking metallic gold segment near the midfoot. This is complemented by the EnergyArc outsole, combining both performance and style.
The New Balance Kawhi 3 Marine Blue will release on December 6, 2023, through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
