New Balance’s basketball division has grown significantly since signing Kawhi Leonard in 2018. Now, nearly six years later, not only does Kawhi have four signature models, but the brand has an array of inline basketball sneakers. As for Kawhi’s sneaker line, his Kawhi 4 is about to undergo a makeover inspired by the Third Eye.
Riffing off the concept of the third eye, which is a way to refer to innate intuition or mystical insight, the silhouette comes coated in a vibrant orange color scheme. All mesh portions on the upper take on this shade, while the TPU on the toe and along the eyelets comes in a darker orange hue. Pops of blue relieve the tonal orange shades on the heel counter and along the eyelet’s N logo design. Here, you’ll find orange Kawhi text alongside a third-eye design encased in a yellow branding window. More Kawhi branding is atop the orange tongue, resting below the fiery orange lace set. Finishing the design is the two-tone orange and blue midsole, which features FuelCell cushioning for optimal comfort on the court and a clear rubber outsole.
The New Balance Kawhi 4 Third Eye was released on October 25, 2024, via New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. A second drop via BSTN is set for November 21.
