Outside of the original “Royal” colorway, the “Metallic Red” is one of the most popular Nike Air Foamposite One’s of all-time. Originally released in 2012, it sold out instantly and became one of the most sought after pairs. Fast forward to 2017, the 20th Anniversary of the Foamposite One, NSW brought this colorway back, still to decent fan fare. While the Foam crazy has significantly died down over the past five years, it looks like the Swoosh is prepping it for a nice comeback in 2023.
Since 2017, Foamposite releases have been few and far between, outside of all the Little Posite One releases, for kids. The “All-Star” edition, releasing in 2021 was well-received, but outside that, little has come from the Foamposite line. However, we can expect a few releases to follow in both Spring and Summer 2023. One of the first pairs set to release during the second quarter of 2023 is the “Metallic Red.” This re-release sports a metallic red Foamposite upper, black accents, and an icy blue translucent outsole. The main difference between this pair and its prior releases is that leather accents are found in place of nubuck.
The Nike Air Foamposite One Metallic Red is set to release on July 6th, 2023. It will drop at Nike and at select retailers worldwide, both in-store and online. Coming in full-family sizing, retail is set at $240, $190, $105, and $85, respectively.
