Nike's knack for celebrating cities through unique sneaker releases continues, spotlighting Atlanta, a city with a rich cultural tapestry and a vibrant sneaker community. Following the success of last year's city-specific renditions of the Dunk Low and Air Force 1, Nike turns its attention to another one of its most iconic silhouettes for the latest homage - the Air Max 95.
Created with the help of four ATL-native sneaker boutiques, Walter's, Wish ATL, SolePlay, and A Ma Maniere, the Nike Air Max 95 Premium Atlanta boasts a luxurious upper. Premium suede is seen across its midfoot and heel overlays, adding a touch of elegance to the silhouette. Leather adorns the mudguard, offering a contrast in visually appealing and tactile textures, with the material getting a 3M finish.
The color palette is inspired by Atlanta's vibrant energy, with red-to-orange hues gracing the midfoot of the left and purple-to-blue on the right. The upper's grey mesh and nylon elements provide a sleek backdrop for the vivid colors, grounding the design in a way that accentuates its boldness. An ATL-branded insole lies within as a direct nod to the city's spirit and pride, taking the motif of a Phoenix being reborn and tying this to the strength of the ATL community. The look is completed by a black midsole paired with an orange rubber outsole, ensuring that each step resonates with the essence of Atlanta.
The Nike Air Max 95 Premium Atlanta will release on April 4, 2024, through Nike and select NBHD retailers in Atlanta. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $185.
