With 2025's Chinese New Year celebration centered around the Year of the Snake, sneaker brands have prepped themed releases and collections around this zodiac animal. For Nike, we’ve seen the brand work on multiple pairs, from the Dunk Low to the two AF1s, one for men and one for women, and the collection of sneakers from Jordan Brand. The Air Max DN is joining the Year of the Snake celebration.
Though there are no Chinese motifs on the sneaker, the snakeskin on the DN upper is an homage to next year's zodiac. This snakeskin detail comes across the upper base in a light tan and black shade, while a fused TPU mudguard runs across the edge of the upper and sole in a tonal finish. Contrasting shades hit the laces and sockliner, with the tongue taking on a tonal shade that matches the TPU mudguard. Back on the heel, we see Dynamic Air branding, a play on the Tuned Air logo from the Air Max Plus, with the same design along the tongue tag. Underfoot sits a Phylon midsole with a TPU shank in the midfoot for stability and a Dynamic Air unit in the heel. Finishing the design is the tonal rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max DN Snakeskin W will release in March 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in women’s sizing, the retail price is $170.
