Following last year's innovative Dynamic Air system introduction, Nike is expanding upon the DN family with the all-new Nike Air Max DN8. While a Hyper Pink colorway helped kick things off for the sneaker in early February, various options are headed our way on March 6.
Nike's advanced Dynamic Air system is at the heart of the Air Max DN8. Unlike its predecessor, the Air Max DN doubles the number of pressurized Air tubes, adding a second Dynamic Air unit to the forefoot of the model. The Dynamic Air setup comprises dual-chambered tubes tuned at varying pressures (15 psi and 5 psi), creating a tailored cushioning experience.
As Jonathan Kosenick, Nike’s Lead Designer for Men’s Sportswear, explains, “For the Dn8, we wanted to be lower to the ground. We wanted to feel more Air. We wanted to improve transition. All of those goals led us to design the shoe with eight Air chambers directly in contact with the ground, which allows the chambers to more effectively compress and be way more flexible, delivering a much bouncier, springier sensation that channels a Nike performance footwear approach into a shoe you want to wear every day.”
Complementing the dynamic cushioning is a sleek upper crafted from lightweight mesh materials. The shoe features slashed openings along the sides, enhancing breathability and comfort. Additional technical enhancements include a plastic heel clip for secure foot lockdown and reinforced material at the toe tip to increase durability.
